Dota 2 positions 1–5 explained: what should you do in lane?

The numbers describe roles and relative farm priority, not a ranking of player skill. As a starting point, position 1 usually receives the most room to collect gold; position 5 typically takes less farm and spends more effort helping the team. Actual lane assignments and responsibilities change with heroes, draft and the match.

Dota 2 last hits falling behind? Build a lane routine before chasing a number

Start by learning when your attack actually lands, then add lane pressure and enemy heroes. A fixed gold target at one minute is a poor universal test: heroes, matchups and lane roles differ. Compare your own attempts under similar conditions instead.

Dota 2 Observer and Sentry Wards: get vision without wasting your detection

An Observer Ward helps your team see an area; a Sentry Ward reveals invisible units and wards within its detection area. They solve different problems. A Sentry alone is not a reliable substitute for normal vision: to attack a revealed enemy ward or hero, your team also needs vision of that spot.

Dota 2 support pull and stack: practise one safe-lane camp

Start with the small neutral camp near your safe lane. A stack creates another group of neutrals; a pull draws your lane creeps into the camp to change the lane equilibrium. The two actions use different timings.

Dragon Knight for Dota 2 beginners: farm, transform and take objectives

Dragon Knight is a durable core who can turn a successful lane into tower pressure. This 7.41f starter route focuses on a weapon-based core; adapt to your lane and current patch instead of treating it as a fixed build.

Crystal Maiden support in Dota 2: lane safely and stay useful

Crystal Maiden helps her lane with disables and mana support, but she is vulnerable when caught. Play behind your front line and spend enough on survival to cast your spells more than once.

Dota 2: when to teleport, push a tower or keep farming

A teammate being chased does not automatically mean you should teleport. Check whether the destination is safe, whether arriving can change the fight, and what happens to the lane you leave. If you cannot answer those questions yet, watch the minimap and communicate rather than teleporting into a second death.

Dota 2 Roshan checklist: when is your team ready to contest?

Before walking into the pit, check where Roshan is, who can reach the fight and who will take the Aegis. A quick kill is useful only if your team can survive the contest afterward.

Dota 2 defensive items: choose the answer to the damage killing you

Do not buy the same item every match. After a death, check the damage recap and identify the disable or burst that stopped you; then choose an item you can activate at the right time.

Dota 2 party, queue or FPS trouble? Find the right problem first

An invitation failure, a queue restriction, network lag and low frame rate need different fixes. Start with the exact message and which players are affected.
