Cave and Goblin Camp
At the Owlbear Nest, avoid killing the cub. You can leave without killing its mother, or spare the cub if the encounter turns violent. After a long rest, the cub can appear at the Goblin Camp near Krolla and the chicken-chasing game.
Speak with the cub if possible; Speak with Animals makes communication clearer. Talk to Krolla about letting it go, using the available dialogue and checks. The exact options depend on what has happened in the camp. Do not attack the cub during a fight; if the camp is already cleared, other encounter sequences may still be possible.
At the Goblin Camp, invite the cub explicitly: without Speak with Animals, beckon it closer, pass the Animal Handling option and offer your hand so it can follow your scent. With animal speech, invite it to your camp. Chicken Chase is optional; talk to Krolla about releasing it. Choices vary by character.
The camp visits
After the cub is free, continue adventuring and take long rests. When it visits, offer food and respond gently. On a later visit it may be injured; help it rather than driving it away. Camp events can take multiple rests, so absence after one night is not proof of failure.
If it does not arrive, check whether it survived, whether its camp encounter was resolved and whether pending camp scenes are appearing. Avoid advancing time-sensitive quests blindly just to force rests; review the journal first. This draft uses the community wiki, not a personal playthrough.
