Plan routes and conserve resources as Grace; use Leon's combat tools without forgetting cover and supplies.
When the story changes from Grace to Leon, change your first question too. As Grace, look for a route past danger before spending resources. As Leon, assess how his combat tools can create a safe opening. Neither approach means every enemy must be avoided or every encounter must be fought.
This spoiler-light guide covers Resident Evil Requiem on PC and PS5. The story controls when you play each character; equipment and available options depend on progress and difficulty.
Grace: look, plan, then move
Grace's sections put greater emphasis on observation and survival. When an enemy blocks a corridor, pause somewhere safer and watch its movement. Identify the door or path you need, then move when the route opens. If the enemy notices you, look for a clear escape route rather than firing automatically; some threats are meant to be escaped, not assumed defeatable on first contact.
Check your health and ammunition before spending a scarce item. If a fight blocks the required route and you cannot get past safely, use the tools you have to create room and reassess. The practical goal is reaching the next objective with enough resources to continue, not proving every corridor can be cleared.
Leon: use the opening, not just ammunition
Leon has a more action-oriented toolkit and can handle fights differently. Before pushing in, look at nearby enemies, available space and a way to retreat. Learn his defensive and close-range options from the in-game prompts; use an opening to move, fight or create distance instead of firing continuously at everything.
More combat options do not make supplies unlimited. Reload or heal when safe, and check whether a fight is necessary for the route. If multiple enemies can attack from different directions, reposition before committing to a close encounter.
Keep their crafting separate
| Situation | Check before crafting |
|---|---|
| Grace has obtained the blood collector | The official examples include handgun ammo from scrap and infected blood samples; decide whether ammunition or another item addresses the immediate shortage. |
| Leon needs ammunition | Leon has separate recipes and cannot use blood for crafting. Check his current menu and ingredients. |
| Either character needs healing | Green herbs can be combined; keep the next encounter and available supplies in mind. |
Recipes and equipment shown in the manual are examples, not a promise that they are available from the beginning. Open the current character's crafting list and confirm the exact materials before spending them.
Pick the camera that suits you
Both characters can use first- or third-person view. In Options → Camera, adjust the relevant character's setting and try it in a safe space. A view that is comfortable for one character does not have to be your choice for the other. If the image makes you uncomfortable, pause and try another view or camera speed.
After a character switch, check the current inventory, route and immediate threat first. Those three checks help you use the new toolkit without carrying the previous character's assumptions into the next encounter.
