Quick answer

Start with a familiar controller layout and one camera that lets you see passing options. Play the same short offline match twice, changing one setting at a time. The best baseline is the one you can read and control consistently, not a copied professional preset.

Choose your controls

In Customize Controls, EA lists Classic, Alternate, Two Button and One Button layouts. Classic is the default. If you already know another layout, keep it and inspect the on-screen attack and defense mappings before changing individual inputs. Xbox and PlayStation button labels differ, so use the image on your own screen as the authority; remapping also changes the answer.

Simplified one- and two-button layouts automate some actions, but EA says they cannot be used in competitive online games. Choose a supported layout for the mode you intend to play; don't change just before a competitive match without practising.

Compare two cameras

EA lists Competitive, Tele Broadcast and Co-Op among FC 27's offline and online 11v11 cameras, with Competitive as the default. Try Competitive for a baseline, then Co-Op or Tele Broadcast for a comparison. Wider views may help you spot passing lanes; a closer view may make an individual player easier to read. These are trade-offs, not guarantees that one view is best.

For applicable custom cameras, EA lists height and zoom from 0 to 20, both defaulting to 10; they do not apply to the Pro view. Start at defaults and change one slider a few points. Rush and other modes have their own camera choices, so an 11v11 setting may not carry over.

Five-minute comparison

  1. Play a short offline segment and note whether you can see your winger, the nearest passing option and the defender you intend to select.
  2. Pause, change only the camera or one slider, then replay a similar passage. Record which view makes those choices clearer.
  3. In controller settings, inspect and practise your own pass, shoot, sprint and player-switch bindings. Keep the same layout while testing the camera.
  4. If an assist setting is available in your mode, change it separately and test a repeatable pass. Record the original value so you can revert it.

If you struggle to see the ball or player indicator, adjust for your display and accessibility needs first. The official EA accessibility page includes current controller and camera screenshots; menus may vary by platform and language.
