Quick answer

Keep rare or unfamiliar materials, gear you may use, and ingredients for your next upgrade. Move them to Private Storage first; selling is harder to undo.

Where to find storage

Patch 1.00.03 added a chest. In chapters 1–2, look in a tent at Freesword Encampment behind the Royal Trading Post outside Hernand. From chapter 3, look behind provisions manager Carl at Howling Hill. The first chest disappears after the camp unlocks. These locations reflect the March 2026 guide; check your game version.

Sort without regrets

Take the food and equipment you need for the next outing. Store upgrade materials and unfamiliar items. Open collected pouches, then inspect duplicates and common resources you can replace easily. Before selling a learned recipe or a completed quest letter, confirm it is no longer needed; keep it if unsure.

Before selling

Check its description, current quest, and planned upgrades. Do not assume a unique-looking item can be bought back. Storage also receives some uncollected enemy loot, so leave free slots and check it periodically.
