Quick answer

In the current Home Village system, troops and spells do not need a training wait, and heroes do not need to heal after a battle. If something is missing, start with the selected army, capacity and the rules of the mode you are entering; waiting for an old training or healing timer may not solve it.

In the current Home Village system, troops and spells do not need a training wait, and heroes do not need to heal after a battle. If something is missing, start with the selected army, capacity and the rules of the mode you are entering; waiting for an old training or healing timer may not solve it.

This guide is for Home Village, roughly Town Hall 1–10. Features and mode rules can change, so read the current in-game message and the specific unit's requirements.

Troop or spell missing from the attack

  1. Open the Army screen and inspect the attack composition actually selected for the next battle. Check troop and spell capacity separately; a composition can be incomplete if an item has not been added or does not fit.
  2. Tap the missing unit or spell and read its unlock or level requirement. If the relevant building or prerequisite is not yet available, use an available alternative and plan the required upgrade.
  3. Check which battle mode you are entering. Supercell says temporary troops cannot be used in regular Clan Wars. An event troop usable elsewhere may therefore be unsuitable for your war plan.

Supercell's 2025 Clash Anytime update removed training time for troops, spells and siege machines. It does not mean every troop is unlocked or every composition fits your current capacity.

Hero not in the attack

Open the Hero Hall or Army screen and check whether that hero is unlocked and selected in an available attacking slot. Defensive Hero Banners and attacking selection are different settings. Supercell says the Barbarian King can be used from Town Hall 4, but cannot be upgraded or given Hero Equipment until Town Hall 7; other heroes have their own requirements.

Heroes no longer need post-battle healing time. If the hero is upgrading or a special mode has different availability, read the current on-screen status and mode rules rather than assuming every mode behaves the same. Supercell's April 2026 notes specifically allowed upgrading heroes in Friendly Challenges and Friendly Wars; that statement alone should not be extended to every battle mode.

Clan Castle help is missing

Check the attack-side Clan Castle request in the Army screen or clan chat. Reinforcements donated to the defensive War Base are separate and cannot be taken as your attacking reinforcements. If the request is empty, ask clanmates for troops or spells that fit the available Castle capacity, then check the Army screen again before entering.

If the screen still disagrees with the selected army, note the Town Hall level, game version, battle mode and exact message. Reopen the Army screen and compare what is unlocked and selected; if the issue persists, use Supercell's in-game help with those details.
