Use camp posters and a map, prepare weapons and supplies, clear the cave guards and bring the child back.
For a first rescue, look for Dino Kid: upgrade the campfire, use the camp poster for direction and leave with a weapon and food. Maps vary between runs, so don't memorize one fixed coordinate. After finding the child, leave time to bring them back to camp.
Before leaving: check the fire, poster and supplies
Make sure the fire has fuel and leave a reserve at camp. In a group, agree who watches the fire and who goes out. Bring an available weapon, food and a sack for supplies; take healing items if you have them. If it's already late or your group has low health, prepare and leave the next day instead.
The missing-child posters at camp provide direction and distance clues. If you can craft a map and compass, prepare them before leaving; exploration reveals map fog and helps you remember the cave and route home. A published guide says Dino Kid is usually reachable after campfire level 2, sometimes level 3. Follow the map and prompts in your run.
At the cave: handle the guards first
Follow the poster clues and remember the direction home; listen for crying as you get close. Dino Kid's cave is usually guarded by wolves. Observe their positions, use your available weapon while managing distance, and avoid drawing the whole group at once where possible. Retreat if health or supplies are low instead of forcing the fight.
After defeating the guards, pick up the dropped key, open the child's door and bring the child back to camp. If you find the cave but it's almost dark, your weapon is inadequate or you don't know the way back, remember the location on your map and return prepared.
Check after returning
Carry the child in your sack to the campfire and take them out within its lit area. Look for the rescue message; the child will settle near the edge of the firelight.
Bring the child into camp and look for the game's rescue progress indication. Refill the fire and food before planning another trip. Later children have tougher guards, so don't assume the first cave's equipment is enough for every rescue.
This draft is based on community and published guides and has not been playtested on the current version. If map generation, enemies or the interface differ, follow what your game shows.
