Record your configuration, compare graphics changes and adjust camera comfort one setting at a time.
If the picture hitches, compare performance settings in the same scene. If the picture is smooth but camera movement feels uncomfortable, adjust camera and visual effects independently. A change that improves one problem may not fix the other, and no single preset is proven best for every PC.
Record a baseline
Write down CPU, GPU, RAM, graphics driver, game version, resolution, graphics preset, upscaling and ray/path tracing if enabled. Save your current settings or take a screenshot before changing anything. Load the same safe location, walk the same short route and turn the camera at a similar speed. Note whether the hitch occurs at a particular turn or when entering an area; an FPS number alone may not reveal uneven frame delivery.
Test performance one change at a time
- Compare your system with the current Steam system requirements. Minimum requirements are a starting reference, not a guarantee of a particular experience on every configuration.
- In the graphics options, lower a demanding setting or the overall preset by one step, then repeat the same route. If ray tracing or path tracing is enabled and the option is available, compare with it disabled; record the visual trade-off as well as any change in stutter.
- Test resolution or upscaling separately rather than changing everything at once. If the image becomes too blurry or artifacts appear, restore the earlier setting and try another option. Capcom's March 5 update reported fixes involving path tracing performance and upscaling visuals; check current update notes and your installed game version rather than assuming an old fix applies to every patch.
- Check whether the issue occurs only with a particular input or camera speed. Keep a note of the reproducible scene and settings for support. These are comparisons, not proven fixes; this guide has not benchmarked your hardware.
Make the camera more comfortable
Capcom states that Options → Camera → Grace's Camera / Leon's Camera opens detailed camera settings, including first- and third-person camera speed; the same settings apply to mouse and controller. Choose the character you are playing, lower or raise camera speed a little, and repeat the same turn. If an option for camera wobble or motion blur is present, try reducing it separately and compare. Perspective availability and menu labels may vary by scene or update; use the choices actually shown.
If you feel unwell, stop and take a break before continuing the test. Once you find a combination that feels better, keep it for a longer session rather than repeatedly changing all settings.
