If the academy entrance is sealed, collect the Academy Glintstone Key from the corpse guarded by Glintstone Dragon Smarag north of the Temple Quarter in Liurnia. Before you spend the tear
- Check the requirements of the weapon, spell or catalyst you want to use. Write down the required attributes and keep enough Vigor for your preferred margin of safety.
- Defeat Rennala, then return to her beside the Grand Library Site of Grace. You need a Larval Tear in your inventory to complete a rebirth.
- Select Rebirth and allocate your points. You must distribute the available points while respecting your class's starting minimums; the preview lets you check the result.
- Review equipment requirements and health before confirming. A completed rebirth consumes the tear; cancelling the allocation screen does not. Don't confirm until the numbers match your plan.
Where can you get a tear?
One early option is in Village of the Albinaurics in southern Liurnia: search the village cemetery. This is a specific pickup, not a repeatable farming method. You can find other tears through exploration, but they are limited per journey, so avoid spending them repeatedly on untested ideas.
If you haven't reached Rennala yet, you can continue levelling and try weapons that meet your current attributes; there is no need to restart solely because the first few points aren't perfect. After rebirth, test the build at a familiar Site of Grace before taking on a difficult boss.
