Check updates, test fullscreen and back up saves before troubleshooting.
Update the game, switch from windowed or borderless to fullscreen, and compare in the same scene. The developers suggest this for windowed-mode stutter; it is not a guaranteed fix for every frame-rate problem. Before working on saves, make a copy instead of deleting anything.
Check the version and display settings
- Confirm your game platform has finished updating. The official 1.1 notes list a fix for brief freezes when saving, loading, or opening the save menu; results depend on your version and situation.
- In display settings switch windowed or borderless mode to fullscreen. Move around the same scene for a while and see whether stuttering improves.
- If it persists, note the original settings, then lower graphics quality or resolution one setting at a time. Compare in the same location; restore a setting if it does not help.
- If the problem continues, record the scene, game version, PC specifications and error message for official support. Fullscreen addresses a specific reported issue, not every cause of stutter.
Copy saves before changing anything
Quit the game and check your platform's cloud-sync status. In the Windows File Explorer address bar enter %LOCALAPPDATA%\Dawnwalker\Saved\SaveGames, then copy the entire save folder to another location. This location comes from community documentation; if it is missing, check your platform and environment rather than deleting other folders.
A local backup does not automatically resolve a cloud conflict. Before restoring, keep the current files and compare local and cloud timestamps in the platform prompt. If you cannot tell which copy is newer, do not overwrite either yet.
