Quick answer

Preserve a separate save before a branch and understand what loading it rolls back.

To preserve a chance to choose again, create a separate manual save before entering an important conversation, timed quest or key location. You can load it and make a different choice, but that restores the entire earlier world state: later quests, items and time progression will not carry into the reloaded route.

This guide does not name characters, ending outcomes or specific choices.

Keep a pre-choice save

  1. While you can still control Coen and the game allows saving, open Save Game from the pause menu and choose New Save for a separate manual slot. Don't overwrite an older save you intend to keep.
  2. Confirm the new save appears in the list. Note its date, in-game time and quest stage: this is your return point.
  3. Continue playing. If you also want to preserve the outcome afterward, create another manual save instead of overwriting the pre-choice one.

Saving can be temporarily unavailable during conversations, combat or special quest states, so find a permitted point before starting. If the option is greyed out, finish or leave the current restricted state and confirm a successful save; don't assume the game automatically saved immediately before your choice.

Is a quicksave enough?

Quicksaves are useful for recent progress; keep a separate manual save for a major branch. Autosaves and quicksaves are managed by the game, and later saves may replace older ones. Don't rely on one of them as your only pre-branch checkpoint.

When you want to go back

First save the current route if you want to keep it. In the load menu, confirm the manual save you intend to return to. After loading, check the day-night phase, quest stage and resources before making the other choice. This replays from the old state; it does not merge branch outcomes, and it cannot guarantee an ideal result for every choice.

If saving or loading behaves unexpectedly, note the platform, quest state and error. Keep the existing files and check official support or update information rather than deleting your only backup.
