Genshin Impact weapon ascension materials: find what you need before farming

Open the weapon's Enhance / Ascend screen and inspect each required material before spending Resin. The screen tells you the current shortage and can point to sources; you may also need enemy drops, enhancement materials and Mora, not just a domain reward.

Build a collection plan

1. Select the actual weapon you intend to use. Note its current level, ascension stage, required items and quantities shown for the next step. Don't farm a similarly named material without checking.
2. Tap or select each material and open its Source information. Check whether it comes from a weapon ascension domain, an enemy or another listed source. If the source is missing, HoYoverse advises contacting support with the item name.
3. For the domain material, inspect the current in-game availability on your server and unlock status. HoYoverse describes a rotating schedule; its Luna I update also introduced round-the-clock access during the first week of relevant character/weapon Wishes for unlocked domains. Use the actual screen instead of assuming every day or every banner follows an old timetable.
4. Compare your inventory and any craftable higher-tier materials. Gather the listed enemy drops, reserve enough Mora, then spend Resin on the needed domain rewards.
5. Return to the weapon screen, verify the exact weapon and cost, and ascend. If the next stage is locked, check the displayed progression requirement before farming more.

Keep the plan manageable

Prioritise the weapon currently helping your main team instead of upgrading every new drop at once. Server time determines which in-game schedule you see; don't convert a friend's region's date into yours by assumption. Available domains, events and costs can change, so the live screen is the final checklist.
