The first ascension quest unlocks at Adventure Rank 25 and leads to Midsummer Courtyard in Mondstadt. If it is not visible, check the quest menu and current on-screen requirements first. (source)
Before entering
- Open the quest and follow its navigation to the domain. Check your current quest screen for the exact stage and recommended level rather than following a pre-update enemy list.
- Equip your regular damage dealer with a levelled weapon, bring healing or shielding, and bring elements you can use comfortably. Improve a key talent or useful artifacts if damage or survival is lacking.
- Stock healing food if you use it, and check that important abilities are ready. You don't need a specific five-star character to build a working team.
Inside the trial
Clear the rooms at your pace and avoid obvious hazards. In the timed fight, watch the remaining time and enemy count, focus on enemies you can reach safely, and use your strongest repeatable sequence rather than spending the whole timer chasing one target. If enemies are spread apart, move towards a position that lets your attacks reach more than one; don't ignore your health to save a second.
If you run out of time, upgrade your main weapon or relevant talent and test again. If you die first, add healing, use a shield if available, or dodge the attack that repeatedly hits you. Change one problem at a time; the exact enemy lineup can change by version.
What happens after clearing?
HoYoverse says Adventure EXP earned at the rank cap is stored and applied after the ascension quest. Your World Level rises and accumulated EXP can advance your rank further, so check whether your team is ready for tougher world enemies. If you remain capped, check the quest completion screen and contact official support with the displayed error.
