For a first match, choose Classic touch controls if you prefer visible buttons, or Touch & Flick if you prefer gestures. A controller is also supported for some mobile matches, but Konami lists mode and menu restrictions, so test it before depending on it.

For mobile, a current community guide places the control-type setting under Extras → Game Settings → Play Settings → Control Type. If your version differs, follow the in-game labels; Konami’s Command List shows the actions for the selected type. (source、source)
Start with touch
- Open the mobile game's settings and find the control type. Choose Classic or Touch & Flick, then open the in-game Command List; names and menu placement can vary by version.
- In a practice match, learn movement, a short pass, a shot, switching players and defending. Change one control or assistance setting at a time and repeat the same exercise.
- If a button is hard to reach or a gesture is unreliable, review the options your current version offers and practise again. Don't copy a console button guide onto a phone screen.
| Action | Touch starting point | Controller starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Move | Use the movement control shown by your chosen type. | Use the movement stick shown in Konami's manual. |
| Pass / shoot | Use the on-screen button or gesture in Command List. | Consult the official controller diagram for your device and action. |
| Defend / switch | Practise the displayed defensive and player-switch controls. | Check the official diagram; mobile mappings can differ from console/PC. |
Connect a controller on mobile
Konami's manual lists Bluetooth DualSense, DUALSHOCK 4 and Xbox Wireless Controller as tested. Pair it using your phone and controller manufacturers' instructions, then try a supported match. Other controllers may work but are not guaranteed; OS and wired connection compatibility vary.
The current manual lists VS AI matches and Friend Match as supported, with an exception for VS AI matches in lower PvP divisions of eFootball League. It also says controllers work in matches, not menus, and command configuration cannot be changed. Touch remains available simultaneously. Check the latest manual and your match screen before assuming other modes work.
