Quick answer

Start with one affordable seed and complete one sale before spending on tools. The goal is a repeatable loop: plant → harvest → sell → buy the next seed.

  1. Join the original Grow a Garden by The Garden Game. Find your own plot and the seed shop. Buy a seed you can afford from the current stock; if you already have a seed, use it first.
  2. Equip the seed and click or tap brown soil on your plot. Wait until the crop is ready, then interact with it to harvest. A plant in the ground is not money until you collect and sell the produce.
  3. Take the harvest to the sell stand. Check what you are selling before confirming, particularly if you intend to keep something.
  4. Use part of the Sheckles earned to buy another seed. Keep enough for the next planting instead of spending every coin on an upgrade.

At the sell stand, talk to Steven: choose I want to sell this while holding a crop to sell only that item, or I want to sell my inventory to sell your carried crops in bulk. Check the option before confirming.

What if the seed I want is out of stock?

The shop refreshes, but a rare seed is not guaranteed at the next refresh. Plant an affordable available seed while you wait. Once you can afford a repeat-harvest plant, it can continue producing after you pick its fruit; compare its cost with the money you can comfortably spare.

Crops can grow while you are offline. On returning, check your plot for ready produce and sell it before buying more seeds.
