Quick answer

Check controls, display settings and cloud saves by platform without assuming demo progress transfers.

Confirm game and platform updates first, note your original control and display settings, then change one thing at a time. Before changing devices or handling saves, check cloud sync; do not delete saves as a troubleshooting step.

Controller or keyboard feels wrong

  1. Open control settings and check the current layout and bindings for guard, dodge and attack; test somewhere safe. Compare the displayed button icons with the actual inputs.
  2. On PC with a controller, check the store, connection and game detection. Capcom's Steam support list includes Xbox, DualShock 4, DualSense, DualSense Edge, Switch Pro, and keyboard/mouse, with exceptions for certain controller features. Capcom lists Switch Pro as incompatible with the Epic and Microsoft Store versions.
  3. If inputs remain wrong, record the controller model, platform, current layout and symptom, then use the relevant store support link in Capcom's FAQ. Do not assume another player's remap is universal.

Try this for stuttering

On PC, check release requirements on your own store page. Note your original resolution and graphics settings, lower one setting at a time and compare in the same scene; revert changes that do not help. Capcom does not guarantee operation with integrated graphics sharing system memory and notes that laptop GPUs meeting listed requirements may still perform differently. No single setting is guaranteed to solve stuttering.

Protect your save

Platform Backup method listed by Capcom
PS5 PlayStation Plus cloud storage; membership required.
Xbox Series X|S Xbox service cloud storage.
Nintendo Switch 2 Save Data Cloud; Nintendo Switch Online membership required.
Steam / Epic Steam Cloud / Epic Cloud Save respectively; Capcom does not guarantee operation of backups created from local storage.
Microsoft Store PC Capcom says Windows game data is saved to disk and cloud; check sync with the platform's instructions.

Check sync when quitting and before changing devices. If local and cloud saves conflict, compare timestamps; do not overwrite while unsure which is correct. Capcom says cross-platform saves are unsupported. A demo reward is not the same as demo progress transfer; transfer has not been verified here, so check your platform's official information first.
