Compare the two editions, upgrade route and preorder bonuses before choosing a version.
Standard is the sensible starting point if you only want to play the story. Ultimate adds a collection of vehicles, weapons, outfits and other extras; Rockstar says these appear across Jason and Lucia’s story, rather than all arriving at once.

What does each edition include?
| Edition | What you get |
|---|---|
| Standard | The game |
| Ultimate | The game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade collection |
The upgrade includes items such as the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Morgan revolvers and Vice City Styles. Check the full item list and your local price before deciding whether those extras matter to you.
Can you upgrade later?
Yes. Standard owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately through the PlayStation or Microsoft store. If you buy the boxed edition, redeem its download code first. Compare the upgrade price in your own store; the difference need not match another region.
Are bonuses the same thing?
No. Rockstar lists the Vintage Vice City Pack separately from the Ultimate upgrade. Eligible digital preorders and purchases before 20 November 2026 also include a month of GTA+; check local redemption and renewal terms. Physical preorders include the Vintage pack, while the official physical list does not list the GTA+ month. Verify the offer on the exact product page before paying.
