Grand Theft Auto VI preorder: the box has no disc

The boxed version contains a download code, not a disc. If you want a physical disc to install or resell, check this before you order: the box still requires a digital download.

Pick your platform and store

Rockstar lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Preorders are available through PlayStation, Xbox, Rockstar Store and selected retailers, depending on country. Check the final price, refund conditions and account region at the store you actually use.

Check the code before buying

Rockstar says PlayStation codes have regional restrictions; buy from a retailer compatible with the country of your PlayStation account and check its code conditions. Its FAQ says Xbox codes are not region-locked. Physical copies contain Standard Edition; after redeeming the code you can purchase the Ultimate upgrade separately.

When can you download?

Digital preloads begin 12 November 2026 at local midnight. Rockstar expects boxed copies to start shipping or being available for pickup from 12 November; receiving one depends on the retailer. Redeem the code when it arrives and check the download on your console. Launch is scheduled for 19 November 2026. Download size and local delivery terms should be checked on the retailer or platform page.
