Quick answer

Honour Mode uses a single-save approach and adds Legendary Actions to major enemies. You cannot rely on reloading an earlier save after a bad choice. A total defeat can end the Honour run; the game offers an option to continue with Honour Mode disabled.

Before entering danger

  1. Rest and check health, spell slots and limited abilities. Carry enough supplies and healing potions.
  2. Examine enemies when possible, especially their Legendary Action and triggering condition. Plan around it instead of assuming the usual fight works unchanged.
  3. Position the party before initiating dialogue or combat. Avoid grouping everyone where one area attack can reach them.
  4. Decide a fallback route and keep a mobile character able to disengage. Do not assume every encounter permits escape.

During a difficult fight

Control dangerous enemies where their resistances allow it, protect the character maintaining a crucial concentration spell, and use consumables before an emergency becomes a party wipe. If a plan fails, reassess rather than spending every action on a low-probability rescue.

Honour rewards require completing the run with Honour Mode enabled; continuing after defeat is a way to finish the story, not the same completed Honour run. No checklist guarantees success. Practise unfamiliar fights in a separate ordinary run first.
